What did you do for your baby's 1st birthday party?

We had a pool party since it was in June in Georgia. However, we learned a lesson: my son was so overtired that he ped out after only an hr, didn't even get to eat cake or open presents. We didn't know many other children his age. We did invite kids from his daycare cl, but no one came. It ended up beig mostly family- some with kids that were older and they had a good time together. It is true what they say, the party is mainly for the older adults. Your baby will enjoy it for a little while, but don't go overboard. Save the big themed parties for later.
