Looking for a delicious tortilla soup recipe?

I had tortilla soup recently at this little mexican restaurant that was absolutely amazing. So far all the recipes i have found online have not sounded like the one i had that i really want to duplicate. It had vegetables, carrots and cabbage and maybe onion. The broth was obviously chicken stock but red in color and a little oily. The flavors were amazing. Shredded chicken, soft tortilla strips and melted jack cheese throughout. I guess I'm really just looking for the stock recipe. If anyone has something that sounds similar i would love to try it!
