Pencil & Pastel?

OK, I'm working on a drawing right now using color pencil and pastels. In the center of the piece I have a drawing of a gold chain and I want it to look like semi-shinny metal so I used the metallic color pencils, but it's coming out dull. I don't want to use paint because the paper will crinkle. Any ideas of what I could use?
