Should I pursue this matter?

I was put out of a subsidized housing apartment for abandoning it.. I never got an eviction but for some reason I went home one day and all my things were gone.. I called the rental office and they said they disposed of my stuff because they thought I had moved.. Nothing but a 10 day notice that I never received because I had been having some issues with some of my neighbors. They could have thrown it away. I had been away from my house to get help with my older 2 children because I was due to have a baby anyday... Was I wrongfully put out?? This issue happened 2 months ago and I am homeless with 3 children because of it.
