How to I make a Tradewind Luger 26' stronger so she can do well on the Atlantic?

I just got a Tradewind Luger 26' but she's just a shell the hull is all but gutted and the motor's gone but I can replace those...what I wanna know is, even though Tradewind Lugers were pretty much bulid fast and cheaply, is there anyway to make it so she can handle the rough seas? I want to see the world not just sand beaches
