Moving to East Boston any thoughts?

I have been living in allston with my best friend now for almost a year in a tiny, slummy apartment that is waay overpriced. My boyfriend just moved into an apartment in Eastie that is the same price but brand new remodeled and four times as big. I am totally considering moving to Eastie when our lease is up, since a lot of landlords are remodeling and rent is affordable for a working student (i.e 1200 for 3br in a nice bldg). Can anyone who LIVES in East Boston let me know what it's like? Ive been there a lot to go to the restaurants, but not sure how it would be walking outside at night, if there's crime, will my car get broken into, etc, etc. Any thoughts?

Everyone really needs to get a life. Everyone thinks their opinion and voice counts way more than it really does. Only a few people rule the school everyone else is pretty much just a shadow. I'm sorry to put it that way, but this will ALWAYS be very true.

Finish your college degree when you are younger. It may seem like just a piece of paper, but it is a lot harder to go back to school when you are older.

Yes, UNLESS, they were hiding him, you never know, maybe they support Al Quida, or maybe they just don't like us coming into Pakistan without telling them, but I think there's a good chance Pakistan was hiding him, they better look into that.
